The Internet is a worldwide audience.  If you have a product or service that can be sold to anyone and they don’t have to live near your store, then you should consider opening up your options.  Having a worldwide audience is a great way to grow your business without opening up more franchises.  It also adds credibility to your retail store for local customers.  Over 85% of people from the age groups 16 to 40 will check the Internet before opening up the phone book.  If you're not on the Internet, your competition already is.  Take a little test.  Go to http://www.google.com and type in your competitors name.  See what comes up.  Now, type in your company name and see what happens.  If you've beat them to the punch, good for you.  If not, let's get started today!

What is the sales process like; do I need a big distribution center to support an on-line store?

 

People can shop and purchase your products any time of the day or night. Hence the saying "make money in your sleep". 
Once the customer checks out and pays, they’ll receive an automatic email from SkyCart! on your behalf, confirming their order, order number, and telling them what’s next.  You will also be notified that an order was successfully placed. 
If you have a manual payment process, then you’ll need to process this payment like you would if they were in your store.  When the order status is updated in SkyCart!, your customer is automatically notified through email.

You’ll also need to fulfill their order and ship it out, so having an account at UPS or FedEx would be a good idea.

You’ll also need to determine how you’ll handle returns or exchanges.  Most companies will not cover shipping on the returned / exchanged item, but it will take you some additional time to process these types of transactions.  Our Ultimate Version offers automatic return RMA’s and store credits.  If you plan to have a fair amount of returns, then you may want to consider purchasing this version of our software.

Depending on the number of on-line orders you receive and the number of different products you sell, you may need a separate fulfillment area or processing center.  Having a different location for order fulfillment depends on how much volume you’ll be dealing with.  Let’s hope that you’ll need to expand, but initially you can most likely use existing office space.

Having an on-line store can be very profitable, but will also add to the back-end operations of your existing business, so it’s worth considering what may happen.  Don’t let this scare you because, growth is good and will set you apart from the competition.

What is an SSL, why do I need one?

What is Quebert and why is this included?

 

Quebert is an Email Marketer.

Selling products and services on-line means that you’ll have a customer list, most likely multiple lists.
